Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Even though the stand is a nice cherry wood and iron, I don't recommend this for hight traffic areas. That is why I call it delicate. The right bumb and it is falling over.
The look is attractive and works really well in the den, which has been decorated in an old west style. The globe itself is not smooth, but slightly topographical.
